You Don't Just Help Here.
You Belong Here.

Whether you have one hour a year or one hour a week — there is a place for you in this community. And the moment you show up, everything changes.

Your Involvement Changes Everything

Research consistently shows that schools with high parent engagement achieve better outcomes — academically, socially and emotionally. When parents and citizens show up, students flourish.

At WRSS, our P&C has raised $30,000+ every year since 2021 — funding playground improvements, learning resources, wellbeing programs and technology upgrades that wouldn't otherwise happen.

Every volunteer hour, every meeting attended, every event supported adds up to something remarkable. That's the power of community.

Do Something That Matters

Common Questions

We hear these a lot — and the answer is almost always "yes, come on in."

Most P&C volunteer roles do not require a Blue Card, particularly for events like Warrigala, sausage sizzles and Colour Run where you're not working unsupervised with children. Some tuckshop and uniform shop roles may require one. We'll let you know exactly what's needed when you register, and we can help guide you through the Blue Card process if required.
Absolutely! Many of our volunteers work full time. Weekend events like Warrigala and the Colour Run are perfect for working parents. We also have skills-based roles (design, photography, social media, admin) that can be done from home in your own time. P&C meetings are held in the evenings 1–2 times per term (around 6 per year). There's truly something for every schedule.
Of course! Warrigal Road State School is a wonderfully diverse community, and our P&C reflects that diversity. Our volunteers and members speak many languages. You are absolutely welcome just as you are. If language support would help, please let us know and we will do our best to assist.
Always, without exception. Every new volunteer is welcomed and supported by our experienced team. You will never be thrown in the deep end. We pair new volunteers with experienced ones, provide clear instructions for every role, and our committee is always available to answer questions. The most important thing you can bring is yourself.
The P&C Association is the formal body of parents and citizens that meets each school term to make decisions about school projects, fundraising, spending and community programs. P&C members have a vote in these decisions. Volunteering is a more flexible arrangement — you help at events and services without needing to attend meetings or take on formal responsibilities. Both are equally valued and important.
"We grow together. At Warrigal Road State School P&C, we believe the best schools are built by communities of parents and citizens who show up — again and again — for each other and for their children."
